Actually, their vocal layering can blend well. MC is a beast when it comes to BG vocals too - one of the best.

Sounds to me like they are already on a song, but likely Bran needs to finish her backgrounds.

Mariah doesn't strike me as the type of person who would call someone out w/o knowing 100% that the person was on board with whatever she is doing.

Bran is really a once in a lifetime talent. This gorl really been getting cosigned since her youth by her peers and new singers that weren't even born when she debuted.
