I just bought my first call and I'm in shambles. Only a $90 potential max loss but nnnnnn. Started low for the sake of learning. I'm scared because this is kinda like ... gambling....it feels like a game at my fingertips.

You need to study the market hard. Do not start investing without studying the market for at least 6 months. Some advice I can give you is you will lose money. Good luck.

You will lose money, especially short term, investing because the stock market is a probability play. If one thinks he will win every time, the stock market is not for him.
They're not trying to tap into the black buying power. Why would they need to do that when blacks money is tied up in depreciating assets? Essentially, they'd rather shop at Target than own a share of it. GME short squeeze was the catalyst for recent black investors.
You can make money in the stock market but you have to be realistic with your goals and do your due diligence. No real investors supports jumping in and out of meme stocks. That's fast money with a big risk to reward. You can't go wrong investing in utility companies and essential companies that will always be around no matter what the economy is doing. Will one get rich? Not unless they have money to start or catch a crypto/stock under a penny and it moons down the road, but they can make money if they know what they're doing.
Good advice Bull, I do understand the risk and I'm def taking my time though. And absolutely only using my play money. So that $90 call option didn't fill so I had to cancel it. I would have gained though :fuming:
anyway I ended up doing another contract for $149. Deadline is tomorrow and Im looking at a $700 gain d

The market is so turbulent right now crypto is trying to adjust, tech is all over the place, Biden admin is tryna deal with inflation, etc lol My equity was down 20-30% 3 weeks ago now I'm back up 60-70% equity. Those call options are so risky, I made bank off a few Nio options, but this last one whooped my ahh!! Down $1300. But this is all apart of the risk and the money I lost was just money I made so it hurts, but not as bad as if I actually took the money out my checking lol

I have about half my investments in the high risk game and the other half in the stable stocks. My long term stocks are the ones I invest in weekly/biweekly it helps build your portfolio and increases dividends. Stocks with the best dividends are really some of the best things to put your money in bc you can live off of it. my homeboy even quit his job 2 years ago and has been living off his dividends primarily.

It can be addicting, but again, be careful. Studying will help you avoid losing a significant amount of money. Learn about fundamentals to avoid picking some bs. You know options usually go off during earnings season every quarter.
