And the artwork used is twisted.
Yall remember the pale demon thing from that movie "Pans Labyrinth"? The demon with its eyes in his palms that ate children?
He had that image put in his shows
It's a weird creepy juxtaposition between something that was originally meant for children to have a good time and hell
Who comes up with shit like that as music art?
I think for the cover LaChapelle is a big influence. He's always had this weird darkness in there but it's actually very intriguing art to me. However...it is supposed to be fiction for entertainment. Not a real life event where people lose lives of course.
People use movie/horror references, illuminati type of imagery, occult all the time in art. I would take it with a grain of salt because nine out of ten times people just want to be edgy for fiction. Just like Dismaland, the theme park by Banksy. If you read the context it's satire and criticism on capitalism. People use darkness all the time to tell a story.
I believe all of this but many Artists are used and exploited in ways they aren't even fully aware of. Many of them are idiots and think of it is "oh wow! Looks cool! Let's do it LOL" and have no idea what they're signing up for. I don't doubt any aspect of your post, i just think there's also no need to take anything with a grain of salt.
Somtimes things are a reach, sure, but, often times there's more to the mess and a method behind the edginess, whether the Artist is fully aware or otherwise.
