Purple Moon

From when someone smashed in my window the other night (you might remember my dramatic post). I have friends staying with me for the rest of this month but i'm really scared of how i'll deal once they move into their new apartment.

Most nights I sleep okay now but for example tonight I'm alone and just can't sleep. The slightest noises make me jump up and when I hear glass bottles breaking outside of my house (weirdly enough this has happened twice tonight with a few min in between) it's like the ultimate trigger for me and I literally feel threatened for my life. It's a flashback type of situation and I feel like someone is out to get me.

One day I think I'm gonna stay in this apartment cause it's beautiful and cheap and convenient and the next I'm ready to move out again when I have a trigger and flashback. I've felt safe here for over 5 years and now some fucked up person destroyed this feeling for me and I'm fucked mentally.

Please send me some positive energy 💗

thanks boo. my head tells me to stay but my gut tells me to leave. This is just the worst moment for me to move but i guess timing is never perfect.

Sorry to hear that you're still dealing with this. I'm not telling you not to move, but it won't help immediately. You're going to still be paranoid if not more. I moved maybe 2 years after it happened to me, and it slightly still affected me; only i didn't notice it at the time. Therapy should happen you some............

I would definitely go to a doctor for example to have a chat and ask if they think therapy would be a good option. It's difficult when you stay stressed and lose sleep because of your bad memory. It could really cause trouble and make things worse for your mental health. And you don't want fear/lack of sleep and peace of mind to become a bigger problem or have effects at work or in other aspects of your life.

Maybe you can't leave right now but at least check if there are options to move this year. The process of moving could take time. You could just gather some info and move to a new place in a couple of months..it's always good to see what kind of places are available, which area, what price.

Get out of there if you can. Don't stay where you are not comfortable.

Have you considered getting a license to carry?
