You're basically speaking to "appropriation vs appreciation"

People can sense a deep appreciation and honor for the culture.. that appreciation almost always leads to someone "doing it right" cuz they're so deeply and genuinely immersed in it or aspects of it

So it's less likely to come off as a joke or parody , making it less likely to be blatantly offensive.
