I've never even been to a bday dinner where this happened or was even a thought. Everyone knows they're paying for their mess like any normal outing. The hell? Then people randomly offer to treat the Bday person to food and drinks and mess, but yea I've never attended something where the assumption was that we're splitting a big bill.

Everyone pays for their own mess or we just split everything equally (bday person doesn't pay for shit). It's never that complicated with my friends because everybody eating AND drinking.

And if ALL fails and some people didn't drink or only ordered something very small... they just Venmo/cash app their part to someone else. It's just not that serious....
