The concept of heaven and god is bullshit. Love and affection is natural for the human species to keep procreating, just like animals do. It's all nature. And don't get me started on the bible. There's some good points in there about being a good person etc., but it's overrated.

But I really don't mind ppl believing if they're all about positivity, love your neighbor and all that stuff. I like that! When I was about to start my roadtrip in Australia I bought this car from an old Christian lady, who was so sweet. She gave me so much stuff for my trip, cutlery, towels etc. and she barely knew me.
(Every other sentence was "god is so great" tho fddfdd that was slightly annoying)

Are you saying animals can't recognize the existence of life beyond death?

I don't know. Is that idea important to them?

I don't know. Is that idea important to them?

It's not so much of an idea as a realization and experience. But it can be argued that there are animals who are aware on some level of the presence of life after death. I think humans are the ones who try and intellectualize it.

My grandmother raised me in church and is a firm believer so out of respect to goddess, I would never disrespect those who do

And aside from that....

I actually understand why many people to turn to religion. It's hope in times of adversity. It's the light at the end of a tunnel .

It's company and comfort in times of loneliness. When there's no one else to talk to, they can "talk to God".

Especially in the Black community, where prayer is all we had to turn to since the days of slavery to Jim Crow to George Floyd. If there's any group of people who should understand the purpose of "believing", it's us.

Personally I am more connected to my ancestors.

The pic in my sig is one that my grandmother had hanging in our livingroom since I was a child .

So I feel very connected to her. And want to learn as much as I can about her.

I believe in God. He has KEPT me through some MESS.

I feel his presence all the time.

I have always been a spiritual person from a very young age and I hope this never changes.

I am definitely more spiritual than religious though. That is for sure.
