a lot of yall seem to forget that there's a lot of different types of Black people represented in Tyler's productions.

from the lawyers, to loud n ghetto Shaquanna with 3 baby daddies, to the CEOs, to the country bumpkin uncles

it's about choosing the PROPER role, which is what Angela Bassett did - as she ALWAYS does.

yes, if Angela chose to play loud and ghetto Shaquanna - rolling her neck , stealing weave from the beauty supply store and cursing out Dayquan  ...to me THAT would have brought her stock/brand down a lot.

but she chose a role that was fitting .

and honestly it says a LOT that someone who is selective as Angela did a Tyler production.

someone who had no problem passing up the type of roles that got other Black women Oscars...cuz she didn't feel it was a good fit

and as far as taraji, Tyler gave her the biggest payday she ever had in her career

so it was a step UP for her - at least in the bank, undeniably.

getting paid much more for gigs def gives room to negotiate for more in future roles

Danielle Deadwyler. yeah she played the hell outta the role in have and have nots though. hood gorl character or not but i saw her in another show called Eleven that was amazing on hbo max and she showed more of her acting chops.  she is a really good actress
