I can empathize with people who may battle with their identity (when it's due to forces out of their control) . I know what it is to have people kinda confuse you based on what THEIR perception of who you are should be .
Genuine confusion, I can understand. It's not hard to fall into that when due to your culture and/or appearance - people place you in more than one box.
Especially considering Zoe is an Afro-latina and the "face" of "latinas! 💃🏻 " in general is NOT a woman who looks like zoe. That can't be an easy space to navigate. I'm sure there's more than enough MESS she's heard and experienced for her to internalize and ultimately project outward.
But What I don't tolerate is anti-Blackness and more specifically anti-Black Americanness. Whether you're black american, Dominican, Peruvian, I don't care honestly
Watch ur fucking mouth and move appropriately
She shoulda never played Nina Simone. That shoulda went to a dark skinned unambiguous Black American woman who didn't need to spray paint themselves to look like Nina. Not saying Zoe is anti-Black but at best she is clueless.
