I could maybe understand if it were ONE  of the 5 kids that he absolutely couldn't deal with

As it would make me ask "hmmm I wonder what that one child did to Brian. Musta been bad"

But what are the ODDS that ALL FIVE of them (with different baby mamas) are so ridiculously evil and all have maternal families that are so evil and ruthless that Brian had to cut ties and keep them cut even as they lay on their death bed.

Siblings also communicate. Different baby mamas or not, they still get a feeling of privilege. Again, paying for 30 year old men to live the life THEY want and not be adults and take care of their own business is the problem.  If they don't want to communicate with their father because he won't pay their way through life, that is just being BRATS.
