That part indeed.
Listening to Jackson 5 and MJ catalogs for the millionth time then running back Brandy's for the millionth time. You can really hear how much she is baby MJ with the ear.

The playing around with the voice and using the voice as an instrument is God given for her but I think MJ really influenced that part of her.

Brandy will give you a Baptist church vocal then also give you this intricate and musically inclined vocal.
Borderline has some baby MJ in it as well.
