Quote from: Slavic Pocahontas on February 14, 2026, 06:44:38 PMi always call her Consuela but after we had that whole debate in that tour thread , in which i acknowledged many of you made great points....those points kinda stuck with me for further thought and I realized i've been wrong.

a more accurate term for Cardi is not "non-Black Consuela" but "An Afro-Latina identifying woman who benefits from what some would consider to be ethnic/racial ambiguity".

That's fair, factual and speaks not only to her experiences and self identification, but how her "otherness" relates to experiences of Black women who don't look like her and/or have the same real life privileges.

if she's completely stripped of her Blackness for the convenience of a kii (especially with a momma and aunts/uncles looking like people in many of our families)...then Nicki should be stripped too considering she's technically "Dougla" with a whole Indian surname and Indian grandpa.

just wanted to say i was wrong and I'm glad i was receptive to what you guys were saying. it really gave me something to think about. that's all! <3
