British model Naomi Campbell, infamous for her temper, received a six-month prison sentence from a Sicilian court for a 2009 attack on a cameraman, which injured the man?s eye.
Naomi Campbell learned the hard way to never go in against a Sicilian ? especially a Sicilian court.

The supermodel has received a six-month suspended prison sentence after scratching the eye of a photographer.

Campbell, 45, was found guilty of assault by the Sicilian court, reports the Mirror.

The lawyer for Campbell, Guido Carlo Alleva, said they will appeal the ruling, according to a statement to People.

The attack happened in August 2009 when cameraman Gaetano Di Giovanni was taking photos of Campbell and her then boyfriend, Russian billionaire Vladimir Doronin.

Campbell, famed for her temper, is said to have hit the photographer with a bag, scratching one of his eyes in the incident.

Although Di Giovanni withdrew the charges following an agreement with the supermodel, an Italian prosecutor, Francesco Massara ordered the trial to go ahead, claiming public interest.

Campbell and Doronin split in 2013 after five years together.
