I don't think they get enough shine. Watching this new version of Roots reminds me of how evil a LOT of White people were/are, but in the same light it reminds me that not all Whites were upholding the ideal that Blacks were inferior and worthy of being no more than property.
Mainly it's the Whites who were up north in places like New York, that really frowned upon it and found it immoral. Which is why so many slaves just dreamed of running up there because they knew if they were make it, they'd be free.
But there were definitely a lot of them in the South as well. Those who fought for and lost their lives for what they felt was right and true. Not because it was the new edgy or cute trend to participate in on Facebook or Instagram. I believe at some point Abraham Lincoln was pegged as a Nigger Lover, which got him a bullet in his head IMO.
