I grew up in the nineties/early 2000s.  I'm used to Lauryn, Kim, Foxy, and that female rap era as a standard.  Nicki came in biting Kim, tried to sound like Fox, but spitting nursery rhymes and punchlines.  She's not as bad as she used to be, but she's not "lyrical" whatsoever.  Her best song can't stand up to their classics.

I'm assuming you grew up in Nicki's prime and are, therefore, impressed.
