Well, it feels like this day would never arrive but it would seem that Disney may be coming to their senses and giving us an all-female superhero film. You read that right: There is, reportedly, an ?Avengers-style? Disney princess superhero script floating around Hollywood as we speak. The floating script is actually being shopped around to various studios, including Disney and is currently titled Princesses. It?s described as ?a female-driven Avengers featuring classic fairy tale princesses.? This. Sounds. Awesome.

According to Tracking Board, Princesses has been sent out to all studios simultaneously, but the package being shopped to Disney is a bit more fleshed out. This means that it has a better chance of catching Disney?s eye and could lead to them picking the script up. To be fair, if the elevator pitch already includes the words ?princesses? and "Avengers," Disney (who also own Marvel, the creators of the Avengers) it only makes sense that the studio might be mightily attracted to the project.

The name that is even in the conversation when it comes to bringing Princesses to the big screen should it get sold is Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales director Joachim Ronning, as Hello Giggles reports that he?s currently attached to direct the film. While it?s heartening to know Princesses has a director in line, those gaps in the production teams look ready for filling with strong, creative female voices ? and we don?t just mean the voices of the princesses. The script, as it stands, was also written by Nir Paniry, a man. Hollywood has a big problem when it comes to gender equality both on and off-screen, and female directors aren?t given many opportunities to helm the films that are most likely to be Hollywood?s top-grossing projects. You would hope that the people given the chance to tell women?s stories would be, well, women. (Wonder Woman, which is a DC Comics property, was directed by Patty Jenkins, but its script was written by two men.)

This is a major opportunity for Disney to bring something fresh and timely to their slate of upcoming films. Fingers crossed that they recognize that Princesses is an exciting opportunity and don?t hesitate to scoop it up ? and tell the story right.

If it's true I'd here for it.

I would love this if it has slight adult humor

Opposites Attract.

Idk guys. I think it would be kinda corny as none of the princesses were really fighters except Mulan, Rapunzal. Even if they made it a love action version they have to change the dynamics of each of their stories to fit it into the new narrative.

It's unconditional, these days you know....

Im more than sure they're going to make them all "bad ass"

That's their selling point. None of them are hardcore.
