Prep is key.
Chop everything and set it aside in bowls and clean your cutting board and immediately put it in the washer.

Just load things in the washer as soon as you're done with them--this will reduce clutter.

As far as cooking smells--which I hate--one thing I do is pour 1/2 cup of vinegar into a small bowl and equal parts baking soda into another bowl. Then leave it out on your counter overnight.

The reaction of both neutralizes odor in the air.

If you want to tackle it faster, boil the vinegar over the stove with equal parts water and the vapors will catch odor particles and neutralize them.

I def clean as I go. While stuff is being saut?ed or something is simmering...I start cleaning up whatever I'm done with. After I'm done cooking the excess goes into containers straight away so I can wash pots and pans before I eat.
I fucking hate dishes and this way it doesn't feel like I'm doing them.
Some of my siblings love oh let's do it after dinner mess and then the kitchen looks like a Middle East Warzone...no ma'am. After I eat, I'm tired, I'm spent and I don't want to be bothered.
