I consider it a handicap .

I've seen people let go from opportunities/work simply because they are unable to be a bit more critical of themselves.

And don't let someone else try to critique them. It's an outright attack and the world is against them.

I say it's a handicap because it seems to be a branch of personality. But I do believe it can be helped .
