Woman killed hours after posting testimony of going homeless to ?making six figures?
akeva Jenkins posted on Facebook about how she had gone from being homeless to ?making six figures? just hours before she was shot and killed in Lake Worth, Florida on Thursday.
?I?m in awe of how far I?ve come,? Jenkins wrote on Wednesday night, describing how ?we overcame being homeless in 2013/2014 to reaching my six figure mark in 2015 to now making multi six figures.?
?No matter what the road looked like, I followed my heart and stuck with it growing my business,? she wrote. ?I?m saying this to say, anyone can do it. It takes determination and consistency.?
Hours later, at 2 a.m., a masked suspect knocked on her door, and Jenkins was shot during an altercation before the suspect fled in the family?s car, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff?s Office. The Palm Beach Post reported that Jenkins had died from her wounds as a result of the incident.
