!!!!

Race honestly wasn't a thing for me til I went down south.

but I'm glad I woke up. This isn't really isn't the time in America's history to be walking around saying or genuinely believing  "I don't see color".
Yes, I think it's just the innocence you have as a child.
!!!!!

my best friend didn't really have that tho. she always felt as if i lived in a bubble where everyone got along, there was no racism, shadiness in the world etc. :plzstop: :plzstop: :plzstop:

she's wat u'd call "been woke"

NYC does that to us, IMO.
Visiting family in other states is when I woke up to it more.

Now, don't get it twisted, race shows up in professional settings, especially corporate. So I've experienced and I am well aware.
But NYC is really in a damn bubble.

SouravMay

I understood race very early. And Mariah Carey, Britney Spears, Shakira & Christina were all the same/white to me. Most light latinos were white to me. Fat Joe, Ricky Martin...

And I thought Will Smith, Tatyana Ali and some others were mixed but black like me. Dark latinos were just black to me like Christina Milian.

Whoopi was black.
