For this particular situation according to his own people, Craig Mack pretty much got into the way of his own success. He was arrogant and hard to work with.  It was like pulling teeth to even get him to do ?Flava In Ya Ear? because he ?didn?t like the beat?. Puff pretty much told him if you don?t do this record you?re gone. He did not like direction or ideas  Puff tried to give and wanted to do his own thing. This is why Biggie became the bigger artist because he would take Puff ideas and pretty much add his own little twist to them. It got to the point where he would do stuff behind the scenes that pissed off Diddy and Big. BIG even said he don?t fuck with that nigga

Puff hard to work with as well though. He didn't even have faith in 112 musically until BIG told him to ease up a bit.

I think Craig would?ve been a bigger artist had he just humbled himself a bit. It worked for BIG. Craig?s own ppl even said this. Puffy wasn?t giving these ideas just cuz he wanted to...he knew what worked.
