Russell Simmons is breathing a little easier today because a rape lawsuit filed against him has been dramatically dropped.

Details below?

Filed in January by budding documentary maker Jennifer Jarosik, the $5 million suit was the first to sweep the mogul into Hollywood?s #MeToo scandal. There have since been more.

Per THR, Jarosik formally dropped her allegations as a stipulation of dismissal this morning.

She had alleged that Simmons  raped her in 2016 after luring her to his house under the notion of working on a documentary.

As for his response; he asserted that their sexual relationship was completely consensual. He went on to stress that Jarosik even sent him text messages saying how much she missed him and wanted to see him again.

With both sides filing a ?joint stipulation of dismissal with prejudice? today, not only does it mean the case is over ? it means it can?t be re-filed.

60 year old Simmons is still up against a $10 million lawsuit from an anonymous woman. She claims he raped her in the late 1980s after threatening her then-young son.

Simmons (who has stepped away from all his business) totally refutes these claims and says her filing amounts to extortion. He further insists that the suit is barred by the statute of limitations.

The drama, it seems, continues.

If it's not true, I hope they can repair his reputation.
