S'yan, the younger brother and his uncle, was black panther inbetween T'Chaka death and T'Challa's rite of passage

in the movie they switched the name and killed him off

they did it so smooth and everybody was so hype that nobody even asked
... ummm..... why is he doing the ritual again? he's already black panther

Boy they don't follow the comics to a T. they were never introduced in the movie universe they answered and flesh BP out between his 1st 2 appearances(Civil War & Black Panther)

well Shuri made the Black Panther suits. You didn?t have to be the king and do the ritual necessarily to be the Panther
even when Killmonger becomes king, T?Challa still has a suit of his own and they fight each other in their suits
Also we see in Civil War where Tchalla takes the ring from his father after he?s killed and the ring contains the suit, that?s why he was Panther before the ritual
