There's such beauty and history behind our darker hues.
once people stop associating dark skin with negative and hurtful things, we can begin healing and accepting ourselves.

Actually most of the people in the higher castes in india are lightskin. the lower caste is mostly dark skin people. that combined with some of the english colonialism ish has put this ideal deep into their system.

I think for many of these racially homogenous countries a sprinkle of white gives them an exotic edge, then added to it looking more white can further you economically, you appear more educated and competent, plus you seem less threatening for rich people.
