Drake files extortion lawsuit accusing Instagram model of faking pregnancy, rape allegations

Drake has reportedly filed a lawsuit against a woman who claimed the Canadian rapper impregnated and abandoned her during what he describes as a consensual tryst in 2017. The lawsuit, which was first reported by TMZ, also charges that she made rape allegations against him and threatened to make her story public if he didn?t pay her off.

TMZ reports that the ?In My Feelings? star?s lawyer, Larry Stein, has filed court documents accusing Instagram model Layla Lace of civil extortion, emotional distress, fraud, defamation, and abuse of process, with unspecified damages being sought.

According to the lawsuit, the 31-year-old rapper admits having sex with Lace after meeting her while on tour in Manchester, England, in February 2017. He claims that the sex was consensual and says Lace concocted a ?fantasy relationship? afterward.

Texts made public by TMZ appear to show Lace checking in with Drake (real name: Aubrey Graham), who eventually stops responding to her messages. After a day of radio silence, she allegedly sent a text accusing him of ?ignoring? her.

In April 2017, Lace shared a post accusing Drake of abandoning her after she became pregnant with his child.

She also gave an interview to Sirius XM?s Shade 45 show, telling interviewer Jazzie Belle that she is ?100 percent sure? her baby is Drake?s.

Though Drake has admitted to fathering a child, reportedly named Adonis, with former fling Sophie Brussaux, his lawsuit says that ?there is no credible evidence of pregnancy, nor any baby, which would have been born [to Lace] last fall.?

The lawsuit also states that Lace refused to undergo a paternity test and that she demanded money for the baby she claimed to be having. When Drake denied those requests, she allegedly hired a lawyer to pursue accusations that he raped her during their encounter in February 2017. Drake?s legal counsel maintains that police in Manchester cleared him after looking into the matter but that Lace continued to demand money in exchange for keeping quiet about her claims.

Yahoo has reached out to Stein, the attorney representing Drake, for comment. Lace, meanwhile, appears to have made her social media accounts private.
