Halfway through the year, female rap acts have already outperformed their respective 2016-18 outputs.

Saweetie (real name: Diamonté Harper) continues a trend by becoming the seventh female rap act to reach the Hot 100 in 2019, already the highest total of any year this decade. She joins fellow female MCs Iggy Azalea, Cardi B, Lizzo, Megan Thee Stallion, Nicki Minaj and duo City Girls (Yung Miami and JT).

Halfway through 2019, female rap acts have already outperformed their respective 2018, 2017 and 2016 Hot 100 outputs. Five female hip-hop acts reached the Hot 100 in 2018 (Bhad Bhabie, Cardi B, City Girls, Dej Loaf and Minaj), after six charted in both 2017 (Bhad Bhabie, Cardi B, Dej Loaf, Missy Elliott, Minaj and Young M.A.) and 2016 (Dej Loaf, Elliott, Kamaiyah, Minaj, Remy Ma and Young M.A.)

Cardi B has landed 11 songs on the Hot 100 in 2019 (tied for the sixth-most among all acts), while Minaj has charted three. Lizzo, Megan Thee Stallion and City Girls have each earned two and Azalea, one.
