Good Morning Gorgeous

Are there any board members from Chicago??? I've been offered a promotion at work and would have the opportunity to be remote or relocate to the city. Since I've previously relocated twice with my employer, I'm considering the latter. New Year...New City!

As a tourist, Chicago is one of my favorite places to visit and explore. I've been to the city more times than I can remember; however, I've never explored the city or surrounding areas for the purpose of being a resident. I have received recommendations from others and would appreciate it if you could do the same. More data the better.

I'm very cognizant of how the city has been depicted in the news because of crime; however, I'm also mindful that it could be attributed to an isolated area within the city. I just want to be far away from the crime's central hub as possible.

Born and raised here. It's a great city. Just be careful of certain neighborhoods on the south-side or on the west side. That's where a lot of criminal activity happens although  there are bad people everywhere. Those are the areas you might want to avoid as the are typically gang infested.. Be careful taking the trains too with valuables and electronics. Be mindful of your surroundings. The best neighborhoods in my opinion are Lakeview, Boystown ( it's the "LGBT tourist attraction of the city)  Logan Square, Wicker Park, Melrose Park, Oak Park, Hyde Park and of course the Gold Coast, Loop area or Magnificent Mile in downtown Chicago. Nothing more beautiful and breathtaking than the magnificent mile in the summertime or Millennium Park (another huge tourist attraction).

its a cute city if you got the coin to be in the center

if you gotta be in the ghetto... best of luck.

Thank you!

Gold Coast, Hyde Park and an area called Wrigleyville are three areas I keep hearing about as recommendations. Once I narrow down the list my goal is to visit in February.
