Lauryn was an R&B artist and a poet. She was never a rapper but recites poetry. It's a big difference.

Yeah. She also won Album of the Year too tho. Shes not the average rapper tho. Meg aint winning shit. Chance The Rapper also won a Grammy. But yeah, if ur a Lil Kim, Nicki, Cardi esque rapper, they aint givin u that award. If ur on some Common, Kendrick shit, yes. They gave Evanescence the award over 50 Cent that one yr.

But I'm more so talking about just Best New artist category. Like a straight up rapper, have they ever won that category.

The Grammys are just so trash now. Back in the day, you had actual PERFORMERS and artists doing shit. the industry has regressed  :helloimangie:
