Julian Conley, 19, has been charged with felony murder and aggravated assault. Channel 2′s Tom Jones spoke to Conley's attorney, Jackie Patterson, who said police notified him of the two arrest warrants for his client Wednesday morning.

Turner was killed on July 4 when a group of people fired shots in to the car she was riding in with her mother near the Wendy's restaurant where Rayshard Brooks was killed. A friend of the child's mother was driving. He attempted to get around a makeshift road block when he was confronted by the group of men with guns.

Jones was the only reporter at the scene Wednesday as Conley walked into the jail around 4:30 p.m.

Patterson said police have a better chance of winning the lottery than getting a conviction in the case. Patterson wondered why police named Conley as a person of interest and are now saying he is a suspect.

"Because I had him on TV, and now they want to charge him," Patterson said.

According to his attorney, Conley saw himself identified as a second person of interest in the case and felt he had to "set the record straight."

On Tuesday, Jones spoke to Conley, who admitted he was at the scene off University Avenue that night but said he shouldn't be considered a suspect.

"At the end of the day, I had nothing to do with it," Conley told Jones. "I feel terribly sorry about what happened to Secoriea Turner.:

Conley said he had a weapon on him that night but he did not open fire on anyone.

Conley said a man driving the car Secoriea was in drove through the barricade and hit a man with a rifle with the car.

"And when that person fell to the ground, the person got up and started firing at that vehicle," Conley's attorney, Jackie Pattersen said.

Pattersen said his client does not know the shooter's name.
