she had the initial push of massive pure sales during the height of her career
and im sure the streams have really pushed it over the edge into diamond status

the new gorls aren't gonna have that. and shim/fox didn't slay like lauryn did with units
i could see missy possibly coming for it.

i was just thinking....was lauryn really a female rapper?

like the first thing that comes to mind when i think of her is all that scatting and doo wop pop pop she was doing on her records

it's probably not even fair to compare her to someone like shim, fox , nicki, etc.
those r definitely female rappers. lauryn strategically blurred the lines a lot more IMO

She def made clear lines with The Fugees that she was a female rapper who could sing, as opposed to female rappers who can't but try, there's a thread about that right now
