We have to stop demonizing mental health challenges
Especially considering our community experiences a LOT more trauma than others. Many times starting from birth and in the household growing up .
I'm always happy to see black people coming forward to say " I have anxiety". " I have depression ." "something's wrong with me." Not happy cuz they're going thru it but happy because the STIGMA isn't preventing them from being honest or seeking help .
take ppl seriously when they tell u that - in any form of expression . It's not an opportunity to giggle
Okay mental health is real and I am glad we are talking about it
cause black ppul act like everything thats done to us and still being done we can just hop up and brush off and it affects us daily in so many ways
but brandy doesnt have a real mental health story
she simply claims to align with a few diagnoses but publicly says its not actual for her
so in that light it is kinda gimmicky and simply illustrates her writing needs work
