The crazy thing is $20K isn't even gonna get you a grand funeral. My grandmothers was around $15k and it was a regular church funeral. she had 3 life insurance policies. Our people need to stop being so afraid of death, and make sure their affairs are in order. Shit is inevitable and the financial burden shouldn't have to fall on your families!!

Yeah honestly 20k to me sounds like a decent casket , burial mess etc . and a lil fish dinner afterwards

that's not a lot of money

it was a reasonable amount to ask for IMO. Yes there are other options (cremation etc) but this a very sensitive time for people and their beliefs may not align with certain methods. I can understand that .

i think she feels her husband spent his life trying to entertain the community with his gifts ... and the community should give back in some way since obviously he didn't make a lot of money doing what he did.
