I'm a pageant fan so I've been following her journey and her career since 2019. This is devastating. Shocked. She is probably the most accomplished and smart Miss USA over the last decade. The sweetest woman.

And she was a part of the group of women that were the first 4 black women to be crowned Miss USA, Miss Teen USA, Miss Universe and Miss America at the same time.

May she rest in peace. Still shocked.

just goes to show money and beauty aren't everything

if anything i think it's more dangerous for people who are in that position of "having it all" and still find themselves unhappy in some way.
cuz society tells us that if you have this formulaic tea of the "dream" everything should be amazing and should feel amazing.

even those who are looking from the outside in will have a tough time processing how someone who is beautiful and successful would want to end their life. it sucks cuz NO ONE should want to end their life regardless of how they look or what their bank account balance is.

but this is how we are programmed to think. even though i know better i can't help to have those thoughts as wlel when i see these stories. "Her? Why? She had it all!"

She did an interview about accomplishments and turning 30 (and how youth is often praised but getting older not)..I guess no matter how many awards you win you can still be very insecure.

I do think also during this pandemic where life almost paused and it can feel more empty, I used to be a workaholic before but I couldn't do it anymore..no energy (I myself have moments were I feel like I haven't achieved much, a good reminder that taking care of yourself/mental health is the most important thing) When it comes to COVID I feel like we have wasted so much time (it's bizarre how everything happened) but I also feel things will get back to normal somehow. Not everything has to be perfect.

I'm devastated I just found out about My friend @chesliekryst passing I just don't know what to say what to feel this is crazy. We were always texting and talking and in constant contact laughing and sharing. Literally I just spoke to her last week.

She was a glorious human being and so sweet and caring I just can't deal with this. She made me so proud to call her my sister and the world proud. A true role model I looked up to HER! God please comfort her family the world has lost a truly special human being. I'm just so devastated 🖤
