She performed this the same week she buried her daughter who died while at school.

AND not the album she released 6 months before she died in a plane crash being called Ready to Fly.

I've been listening to a lot of gospel music lately, and it has just become so clear to me how white men forced their religion on blacks as a way for us to endure suffering. The pastor tells Lashun that we are going to provide restoration. You're blessed is the not the proper response for a mother who just lost her child. How do they actually handle the grief?

By putting it in God's hands. Some things are too big to carry by yourself. Believing in God gives a lot people including myself comfort.

Even if I'm not religious. I'm not even Christian. But I still believe in a higher power and I am spiritual.
