Damn I forgot about Rich Harrison and how he incorporated D.C. go-go sound into R&B music.

The Only BLACK Kalmyks

Quote from: L0NZ. on August 01, 2023, 03:33:24 PMWhat are the eras of Hiphop/R&B of the 2000's? Like break it down into 3 or 4 and what do you think are examples of the "sound" or innovation of that era
u don't tell me wat to do
Kalmyks are tribal Mongolic people primarily located in Russia.
There are only 3,000 Kalmyk descendants in America - and less than 200,000 worldwide.

Grandpa and his grandma

Gilgamesh.

I forget the specific years but off the top off my head:

- Dancehall
- The Indian flute
- Autotune
- Superproducers (Scott Storch, B.Cox, The Neptunes)

RAY7

I think it started with Hip-Hop/R&B duet songs being huge. Ja and Lil Mo, Ashanti, J Lo., Christina Milian
Fat Joe and Ashanti, Fabolous and Lil Mo, 50 copycat and Olivia etc

Then around 03-04 Crunk took over
Then 05-06 it was the snap movement
Then 07 was crank that everything
Then 08 Pop and EDM took over the charts
But Sean Garrett and Bangladesh
Rico and Jim Jonsin
Polow and Tim were still able to get hits

klappa.
