Why is everyone always obtuse when it comes to giving Madonna her credit? 

Janet Jackson has to have global appeal and success to be the queen of pop. She doesn't. And only on twitter do they feel this way so it's funny.

comparing a blond haired , blue eyed woman to janet in itself is not only unfair, but illogical

not saying Janet is the best selling female of all time, but she doesn't really owe her career to a Madonna.

if anything, one could argue that the KING of pop, her BROTHER, who DOES hold the title for best selling album of all time WORLDWIDE.....deserves thanks from her.

and even then, a good counter would be: "Janet took a road of her own and didn't rely so heavily on him."

Madonna pushed buttons and altered how women approached and were represented in the music industry for sure. Let's not play. BUT to say "every" female artist is a bit much, but she did start a whole ton of mess for sure
