its definitely closer to the latter. I recall him recently saying he doesn't get into politics like that
I think he kind of looks at Trump as a super rich person and he aspires to be on that level of wealth

him actually helping trump get elected would have been harmful and unforgivable behavior IMO

To me that would show true "support" of Trump and his agendas.

But him deciding to perform for the elected president was just a bad look cuz it's Trump .

Chrisette made the same mistake . I think these artists get so excited about the check and being "part of historical moments!" that they choose to overlook how it will appear.

And instead lean into their own personal reasoning to find a way to justify the decision before going through with it.

But ultimately what they did was nothing sinister or reckless when you really think about it. It's just a "bad look".

And they get dragged for it - which shouldn't surprise them. But it's still not a Stacey Dash level tea.

Now that I'm digging deeper into the mess I see he literally said "I support the president regardless of who's in office"

Although him saying that is a blanket statement and doesn't mean he's just so in love with Trump specifically

He literally labeled himself a supporter. So people calling him a "Trump supporter" can't even be challenged . Technically

This is actually worse than Chrisette. she at least clarified she's not a supporter of Trump as she was getting dragged. And framed her performance as some sort of protest
