She's so used to focusing on singing separated lines in the studio that she has lost the skill of singing a whole song.
It's like she'd have to take a pause between each sentence if she were to sing a song live.
Plus the precords are not enjoyable for a régular audience all those runs on each sentence disfigure the songs.

what modern R&B/contemp/pop artist never lips?

there's no official rule book on how much u can/can't lip to be a singer

she's done more than enough singing, both live and in studio, for her to never sing a live note again and STILL be NOTED as the "vocal bible" by the gorls.

if anything she's earned her rest and comfort if that's the route she's taking as she approaches 50

Let her accept her awards and do these throwback lipped performances, cheesy movies and not release another albums until 10 years after B7 that will flop.
