No, they said the mother is dead. The daughter is injured.  There is nothing stupid about the mom trying to save her daughter. I would do the same thing from mine if I had a daughter or son.  This is sad. 

I think I could take if they'd said this person got attacked after getting out to take a closer picture. But getting out to save her daughter gets me. 

A mothers love knows no bounds. She didn't think TWICE and sacrificed herself to that tiger.
