nnnnnnnnnnn mmmm and the gag is Artpop is sonically definitely an extension of The Fame. It's just all that pretentious mess was turning everybody off.

nah, katy perry was the hbic. after roar won the battle against applause, it was a wrap.

not to mention r kelly being on the next single and the whole fiasco with no music video, etc. the whole era was cursed and katy perry kinda stole the spotlight.

Roar is a pop classic. Applause isn't. Applause was corny. "Put ur hands make em touch!" But she doesn't have anyone competing with this go round so maybe she'll do better.
