The fact that it's discussed means we like it enough to even speak its name. Other white shows we couldn't care less for we don't even mention. Just because I drag Ghana or Ciara, doesn't mean that when it comes down to them being compared to a white equivalent I won't prefer them.

I think within our select spectrum of shows we even CONSIDER watching and like enough to potentially chune in, Empire doesn't do fantastically but overall most probably prefer it over 95% of TV shows.

Don't think it's necessarily because they're black

But because of how popular the show is

Most people like to align themselves or completely shun something immensely popular

!

And also because people don't know how to ignore and congratulate the success of things they don't like. In this day and age, you have to either love something or hate it...you can't be in the middle or not care.
