Kim Jong-un uses New Year's message to claim US 'cannot declare war' on nuclear-armed North Korea



North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has used his New Year address to claim all of the USA is within range of his country's nuclear missiles.

Kim Jong-un says North Korea is a peaceful nuclear nation and that the weapons will be used "only if our security is threatened". North Korea conducted its sixth and most powerful nuclear test in September. The comments came after Retired Admiral Mike Mullen said he believed the US has never been closer to a nuclear war with North Korea.

"The US cannot declare war against us. The entire US territories are within our firing range and the nuclear missile button is right there on my desk," he said in a speech broadcast on state TV.

"We have secured powerful deterrence against the nuclear threat from the US," he added.

im still glad that trump put pressure on them. they have to know they will not go unchecked. and trump is actually taking money AWAY from them with the sanctions instead of giving it to them for peace like previous presidents did. kang is kinda letting them know they will NOT be rewarded for tryna get gangsta.

Nah they still got money. They are really good in cyber crime. I hope the US is ready. They also make money from drugs and the clothes Westerns buy with the tag ?made in China?. We don?t even know how much is made in China and there are also NK citizens working all over the world in factories (all money will go to NK).

Trump?s statements once again confirmed to the citizens of NK that the nuclear program is necessary. So they are more likely to be ok with living in complete poverty only to protect the nation. What I need is the opposite; I need the people of NK to take over because they are treated like shit and there is no reason to make nuclear bombs. Of course the propaganda and brainwashing is making it really difficult already..and the fear is horrible
