all these high rise apartment buildings, hotels , plans for an H&M 
and this fucking house music playing as Josh describes the plans
its all screaming "White people ! Come on over! LMAO! almost done lolz"



its already begun transforming a bit.

my coworker visited this area as she was passing by to another destination
and she was like, "umm herb i thought u said u were from the hood....i went to jamaica the other day and its not what u said it was  "

she wouldn't even hear another word about it when i tried to explain it to her. 

this place won't even be recognizable to me anymore once they're fucking finished.
we talk about gentrification all the time here in NYC but now im actually feeling it . its kinda hurtful.

It's happening here in LA too. Now that we have 2 NFL football teams they need to build a new stadium, and of course they choose to build it in Inglewood of all places.

So now the rents are already increasing. My cousin's 2 bedroom apartment was $1300. Now it's going up to $1600 for damn Inglewood. They're already putting in new shops and buildings.

I'm just glad a lot of the Black folks there actually own their homes.

It's crazy how White people just take what they want.

They made the laws that historically relegated Black people to specific areas in the city. Now that they wanna live in those areas due to the cheaper costs of living, they manipulate the laws in their favor to take it back.

I was just reading about how the projects in Watts are being fixed up and expanded, as if the city of LA is doing it in favor of the residents. I see right through them. They are adding more units because they know more people are gonna be displaced due to gentrification. So now they can just throw them all in Watts, until they decide they want that too.

If you're a renter in these gentrified areas your ass is toast.

and if you happened to purchase a building in a previously shitty area ur ass is lucky. property value skyrockets

but then the challenge becomes people knocking at the door tryna buy ur mess from u. and fighting the temptation to gnaw on the cash they're waving in front of u in order to keep property in ur family for the next generations.

But even owning your home doesn't always mean you're safe.

They'll just use eminent domain to take that.
