I was referring to Boom's post. People who come from low income neighborhoods treasure these types of items because it gives them a false sense of elevated social class. Which is understandable, many of them grow up with next to nothing and are constantly reminded how low they are on the economic totem pole. A fresh pair of Jordans means the world to them. Some will even work two or three weeks at Mickey Dee's scrubbing floors, cleaning toilets, etc. just to get them.

Others unfortunately resort to less traditionally moral ways of obtaining these goods. As we can see in this vidya.

The irony.

Part of me can't understand things like this because I wasn't raised to put so much value into material things. My grandmother would make a trip to Payless Shoesource real quick to get us sneakers and shoes, but we were perched in a private school for most of my childhood.

And it's not like she chose quality education over our appearance or something, she still kept us looking decent. She just knew where money should be really be spent.

I'd have to say I kind of adapted the same principles. Which is why when I saw people with that whole "IPhone countryclub" movement I was sitting like So you guys work for 3 weeks, bust your ass and slave to purchase something you really cannot afford? Just to say you have it?

Not to say everyone had to do that, but let's be realistic. many of them do.

I have to be able to justify a large purchase. Otherwise I feel stupid for spending. And it has to be something that will fit will into my budget. The fuck I look like going broke to put on a show for some niggers that probably don't even use me.
