Adam Housley Didn?t Know About Sister, Sister When He Pursued Tamera, Or ?Racial Junk? They Would Deal With
Adam actually had to do a search of the star to figure out who she was. He did say, in his defense, that the show was a bit after his time, hence the reason he had no clue about it.
?It started when I was a freshman in college,? he explained. ?If I was watching Sister, Sister in college, guys would have beat me up.?
But not knowing she was famous was probably the best thing for them. He wooed her through email (she wasn?t comfortable initially giving up her number), they had a successful (albeit clumsy at times) first date, and love eventually blossomed. But it wasn?t all happily ever after following all of that.
?We had a lot of outside things that kind of got in our way,? Adam said.
Specifically?
?Dealing with racial junk,? Tamera said. ?It was when social media was taking off and it would come directly to us.?
Back in 2014, Housley said the negativity they often faced online was ?beyond sad.?
?It is pathetic,? he said at the time. ?Yes I am white. Yes she is half black. Marrying a white man does not erase her color and marrying a woman who is half black does not mean I am blinded.?However, their detractors (and the fact that he isn?t a Sister, Sister fan) didn?t hold them back. Tamera adores her husband.
