Instagram did a test update for a few users but accidentally did a broad one. The test update was they changed the vertical scrolling through posts to a horizontal swipe through posts like tinder and the gorls were NOT having it and they scrapped the whole idea.

If it were vertical you would have to tap back multiple times just to see a post again and if you gave up on that you would have to go to your following list to see someone?s post.
