My father was there when my mom went into labor
there when I was born and there to sign the documents
and helped her recover when they got home with the newborn
once my mom recovered
my dad began suffering from ptsd as a veteren from vietnam and turned to drugs to cope with it
my mom was aware of this but got thru some of these bouts of ptsd he had and they would come and go
Once my mom recovered fully (c section and other complications) and he began his cycle again she told him he cannot be around the baby with all of this ....he got violent and destroyed the house and my mom got a court order to get him removed from the home
Once he got better again he said he held a grudge against her for not sticking by him anymore through his troubles and decided to walk away untill he can overcome it
Turns out its a struggle hes is still dealing with
and i forgive him
I forgive him for not trying to be a toxic absent father while still being in my presence
like alot of people in chicago deal with
