She is my favorite author. So glad my 11th grade English teacher made us read "Beloved" in 11th grade-- my first exposure to her work and have read all her books since then several times.

Ack, that quote has stuck with me since I watched her on the show.  I don't have kids, but I always make sure I act that way with my nieces and nephews.
