Its definitely a combination of EVERYTHING imo. Race, the QUALITY of music, label support, public interest ect. Its hard for me to only place the blame on race alone when I know a lot of these R&B artists aren't releasing quality music and albums..  :uhh: At one point, R&B artists were the trailblazers. Music is constantly evolving and R&B hasnt really evolved in over a decade.... and I think that is the MAIN issue. The gorls are stuck in the past. A Lil Wayne feature clearly aint enough to get by anymore... so whats NEXT?
!!!!!!!

perfectly said sis

"But oh! Adele had promo!"

I just wish the gorls would acknowledge the fact that their faves are putting out trash, ain't nobody gonna buy it if it's promoted anyway :dead:

That coupled with the other issues is why they ain't selling shit!

People should be able to have a fucking discussion on this fucking board without having to resort to insults. I'm not going to stoop to people's level.
I think people are exasperated by you because you always play captain save a honky, whilst putting down blacks.
Ghetto? Hood?
What about the plenty of R&B artists that released albums recently that weren't those things?
It's really off putting
I'm talking about artists who have to run to a rap feature. Hun. It's not about race. Trust me on that one. Ghetto, Hood.  Yes I said it because R&B didn't use to be about all of that stuff. I am not even playing captain save a "h" word. Please don't fucking use that word. I don't refer to anyone as any type of derogatory word at all. No matter what race they are. I'm just speaking on what radio programmers say behind artists backs. When they're not around and stuff. You'd be surprised. And it's not just urban radio who does it either. pop radio does very similar shit. That's all I will say about that.

Whats wrong with a rap feature?
If it fits, it fits.
And I'll say the word 'Honky' seeing as you throw out 'monkey' this and 'nigger' that.

Am mean... Even with Janet ... Why did sis NEED to put J Cole on that song?

To reach a younger fan base? .... but why?

Adele has no features :dead:
But yawl complain about her artistry

I just see it as a contradiction.

I know Tweet's not coming with no features, all her creativity. She's getting my coin. I'm supporting that.

I never use the word monkey or nigger. A rap feature doesn't really fit in with R&B especially in this climate where R&B needs to seriously change it's format in order for people to take it more seriously. Radio programmers and DJs be saying a lot of shady shit about R&B music like how they're not being innovative enough or serious enough. And here's the big one: They even say that R&B artists don't take their time or effort with making quality music. They have even shaded a number of songwriters as well. That's the point that I'm making. Urban radio programmers and DJs claim they support the artists and the craft when reality-wise they don't.  I think the words honky, monkey, and nigger are just disgusting and repulsive. I even cringe when I hear people around here in NYC use the words. Like every five words. It's sickening.

I think public interest and label support both go back to the color of her skin, IMO
I think it might play a part.... But I feel like it all comes back down to the music. R&B just isn't interesting anymore to the general public or profitable in 2015 and I don't think that's really the label's fault... It's just business. It's hard to say it's only about race when you see hip hop on top and constantly reinventing itself.
