But back to Dawn..
we can laugh and everything but let's at least take the time to consider where all these INsta antics stem from. She's mentioned so many times how she feels her complexion, etc. is something that is frowned upon in this industry. Clearly she reads and hears the draggings loud and clear. And she's not lying.
Somehow she's been made to feel like her natural being isn't enough. She needs more, she needs something different. Yes its a kii cackle to see this pictures and stuff. lol. But this is a real struggle for our women. she's just become the posterchild for it , in the worst possible way.
she definitely felt the lashings and hatred. she mentioned "wow so now u guys are bashing me for changing what you disliked in the first place"?
"I was ugly before, but now it's still a problem"? She can't win, really.
!!!!
exactly. This is really sad once you get past the giggles and kii's.
This woman is bruised. She can't even post a pic of herself without sitting down to alter almost every aspect of it. All to impress people who will STILL tear her down. It makes me just a bit emotional thinking about it.
This is why it's crucial to pay more attention to the roses being thrown at you instead of the darts. But of course this is so much more easily said than done. We're in a society that gravitates toward negativity. One in which celebrities will reply to a "fan" dragging them on social media 100x quicker than they will another fan singing their praises and showing them love, BEGGING to just be noticed by them.
So it's easy to see why she hears the criticism loud and clear. It's just a sad situation. And it sends a potent message to her followers, a very dangerous one to the younger black girls who follow her. She's doing nothing more than recycling the message that was sent to her, and transmitting it to them at this point.
